First, I want to personally thank you for taking the time to look at my web site and giving me your time and consideration.
A little history about me and my education...........
I was always interested in radio as a child and wanted to be a DJ on a music station!
In high school, I worked as a DJ at Skateland in Fargo, ND for over twelve years. Roller Skating was my passion. Plus, being a DJ was the icing on the cake. Spinning records and playing tapes, really shows you how old I am.
My education, I have a certificate in Radio & Television Broadcasting from the National Education Center, Brown Institute of Minneapolis. I received a special award in recognition of having attained a cumulative GPA of 3.8 and having earned the privilege of graduating with high honors. I'm very proud to have been given the Presidential Commendation for Academic Excellence!
"I loved going to DJ school. The nine month course was too short for me, I wanted it to last longer. I had the time of my life and it showed. My teachers were great!"
"I learned not only from the books but also the hands on training that Brown Institute offers. I would highly recommend Brown to anyone that is interested in a DJ profession."
I worked for a DJ Service, interned at a Forest Lake, MN radio station and worked for Sam Goody/Musicland in the warehouse department while going to school.
I was hired three months after graduation and worked for KPQX, a country music radio station in Havre, MT where I worked for two years.
In 1994, I came back to the Fargo/Moorhead area to make my dream of owning my own business become a reality. I worked full time for five years at a furniture manufacturing job, saving money to create working capital. I then secured a business loan in October of 1999 to start Dan's Mobile Jukebox.
Dan 's Mobile Jukebox (DMJ) first paying event was working for the North Dakota Jaycees.
Since then, DMJ has worked for the Fargo Jaycees, AA groups, many Weddings, VFW's, American Legion's, Birthday Parties, Anniversaries, Reunions, Charities, Benefits and Local Clubs.
Also, Dan's Mobile Jukebox DJ Service has taken the time to give back to the community with charity events for the Fargo Jaycees Family Aids Network, "61 for 61" MeritCare Cancer Center, providing a PA system and background music for Fraser Ltd. "Festival of Trees" at Innovis Hospital in December, People of Poverty in Moorhead, and many different benefits for individuals with cancer, house fire, and hardships.
I joined the Midwest Association of Professional Disc-Jockey's (MAPDJ) in Minneapolis, MN in 2002.
Later that year, I helped to start the:
FIRST CHAPTER of MAPDJhere in Fargo, ND!
I'm happy to be a Charter Member of Red River MAPDJ. There are 22 members in our chapter. DJ's from Grandforks, Fargo, Fairmount, Wahpeton, Breckenridge, Fergus Falls, Shelly, and Bemiji.
We are working on our profession to make our shows better! Networking, setting standards, creating bylaws, educating members, socializing, and building friendships is MAPDJs goal.
"I've learned the DJ Mobile Industry from within and with my experience and education, I feel that I have taken a step above other DJ's in the Red River Valley"
I've worked in the music industry for over 15 years.
"I've learned the knowledge of music. That's something you have to learn through working with music and people".
Education and experience does make the difference!
